No traces of Dabangg in Ready and Bodyguard says Salman Khan

Salman Khan found his Midas-touch at the box-office by remaking Telugu hit Pokiri as Wanted in Bollywood. After getting much needed respite with Wanted, the actor tasted enormous success at the BO with Dabangg even though it was a straight film. At present the actor is remaking two southern hits; one from Malayalam and the other from Telugu
and incidentally both the remakes are titled the same as the originals.

Speaking to media, the being human of Bollywood confirmed that “both Ready and Body guard have their differences in the form of comedy and romantic action drama and they don’t fall into the category of Dabangg which is a complete hard-core masala entertainer”.

Ready is directed by Anees Bazmee and Body guard is by Atul Agnihotri. Ready will hit theatres on May 27th where as body guard would be tentatively on 31st august. Considering the mentioned films which tasted BO success in their original versions, it is evident that Salman is gearing up to clinch the top slot in Bollywood. What do you say folks?

Sanajay Dutt to make his father’s classic as remake

Way2Movies has earlier reported that Sanjay Dutt is remaking yesteryear’s classic Satte Pe Satta with him essaying the role of Amitabh. Now, the macho man of Bollywood is planning to remake Mujhe Jeene Do (1963), which starred his father, the late Sunil Dutt.

But there is a twist attached to this remake. Dutt it seems won’t be starring in it and plans to produce it by casting the heart-throb of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor. In Mujhe Jeeno Do, Sunil Dutt has played the role of a dacoit. Dutt feels that he is too old right now to reprieve his father’s role and thinks that among the younger brigade, Ranbir fits into it
perfectly.

When asked whether the story would be the same, Dutt established that he is changing it to suit the present day circumstances by showcasing Ranbir as a gangster from Mumbai.

Dutt off late is associated with producing movies; at present he is acting and co- producing Rascals with David Dhawan as its director, he is also co-producing Satte Pe Satta with Ashtavinayak.

Looks like its the season of classic remakes for Bollywood; Satte Pa Satta, Agneepath, Seeta aur Geeta and now Mujhe Jeene Do. Wondering, whether there are any other classics in the pipeline to be remade in the later part of the year.

Professionalism of Hrithik Roshan

Way2movies has earlier reported that Hrithk Roshan went on a stretch of 17 hours to shoot a promo for his upcoming foray into small screen, a dance based reality show titled “So you think you can dance”. The actor went on to shoot for it even though he had a muscle tear.

Now adding another feather to his Professionalism, the Guzaarish star was seen on the first day of shoot of yesteryear’s remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer “Agneepath” provided he was not necessary for the shoot on the concerned day. Entire unit on the location was dazzled to see the star’s presence wondering whether he had any scenes to shoot but eventually came to know that he came to see how thing’s are panning out.

Sources revealed that Roshan Jr was seen showing keen interest on what’s happening in the location. Agneepath star’s Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor in the lead and is produced by Dharma Productions. Certainly Roshan Jr surprises everybody, one or the other day with his professionalism. Any body listening?

Sensex slips after tepid start

A benchmark index for Indian equities markets Friday pared early losses, but broader markets were still in the red.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 17,519.13 points, was ruling at 17,402.45 points, down 60.59 points or 0.35 percent from its previous close at 17,463.04 points.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was trading 0.32 percent lower at 5,209.25 points.

Broader markets were, however, trading in the green, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.37 percent higher and the BSE small cap index trading 0.61 percent up.

Metals, telecom and realty stocks were in the red, while consumer durables and auto scrips moved up.

The market breadth was positive, with 1,256 stocks advancing compared to 1,048 scrips on the decline. A total of 62 stocks remained unchanged.

The major gainers on the Sensex were HDFC, Tata Motors, NTPC and Hero Honda. The losers included Reliance Communications, Hindalco, Reliance Infra and ONGC.

Other Asian markets were trading on a cautious note as all eyes were fixed on the political turmoil in Egypt after President Hosni Mubarak refused to quit despite continued mass protests.

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was trading 0.28 percent down at 23,644.39 points, while a benchmark of Chinese markets, Shanghai Composite index, was ruling flat at 2,815.61 points, down 0.09 percent.

The Japanese markets were closed.

Nadal with unchanged lead at top of ATP rankings

Spain’s Rafael Nadal stayed well clear at the top of the ATP rankings which were largely unchanged Monday.

Nadal remains on 12,390 points with Roger Federer of Switzerland (7,965) and Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic of Serbia (7,880) also unchanged in second and third, respectively.

Russia’s Mikhail Yuzhny re-enters the top 10 in 10th position in place of Austria’s Juergen Melzer.

Kareena to pay tribute to Sridevi on February 11th, 2011 kareena

Actress Kareena Kapoor is going to perform at the Global Indian film and Television honors [GIFTH] ceremony that would be hosted by Balaji telefilms on 12 February in Mumbai. The ceremony will see the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor to perform at the event and she is also slated to pay tribute to the evergreen actress Sridevi through her dance numbers.
This would be Kareena’s second performance with in a gap of two weeks after she performed at the recently concluded filmfare awards ceremony.

Manish Malhotra, Bollywood’s favorite designer is set to arrange a grand costume for the “Kurbaan” actress. The bread pakoda boy, Ranveer Singh of Band Baaja Baarat is also slated to perform at the awards night and Manish is also working on his costumes. Confirming this on his twitter page, Manish tweeted “Kareena pays tribute to Sridevi at the upcoming Balaji awards, both are my favorite actresses”.

The event would be televised in colors on 27 Feb. Looks like we got something more from Kareena and Ranveer after their rocking performances at Filmfare.

No honeymoon for Imran Khan as of now

Everyone is aware that Bollywood’s new jodi Imran Khan and Avantila Malik tied the knot last month. Even there was a reception bash that Imran’s Mamu Aamir throwed in for the newly weds off late. But the news that came in suggested that Imran Khan has no plans for honeymoon in coming months.

The story goes like this; Imran is currently working on two projects namely Short term Shaadi for Dharma Productions and Meri brother Ki Dulhan for Yashraj films. So Imran is busy attending both the shoots. The actor is in such busy that even he had to squeeze out sometime from his busy schedule to perform at filmfare awards night. It was evident when he cracked a joke on Katrina during awards night to which Katrina responded “Imran, tomorrow we have a shoot at 11 in the morning”. Poor lad, he had to go out early next day after hosting the star studded ceremony till eleven in the night.

So as of now there is work for the Khan to perform and if the work happens to be from two prestigious banners who would not postpone his honeymoon plans.

Engineers find nanolasers for faster microprocessors

Engineers have found a way to grow nanolasers — lasers able to produce beams at nanoscale — directly onto a silicon surface, potentially opening the way to a new class of faster and more efficient microprocessors.

“Our results impact a broad spectrum of scientific fields, including materials science, transistor technology, laser science, optoelectronics and optical physics,” said Connie Chang-Hasnain, the study’s principal investigator and computer sciences professor at the University of California, Berkeley.

Increasing demands on electronics have sent researchers in search of better ways to harness the inherent ability of light particles to carry far more data than electrical signals can, the journal Nature Photonics reports.

Optical interconnects are seen as a solution to overcoming the communications bottleneck within and between computer chips, according to a University of California statement.

Because silicon is extremely deficient at generating light, engineers have turned to another class of materials known as III-V (pronounced “three-five”) semiconductors to create light-based components such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and lasers.

But the researchers pointed out that marrying III-V with silicon to create a single opto-electronic chip has been problematic. For one, the atomic structures of the two materials are mismatched.

“Growing III-V semiconductor films on silicon is like forcing two incongruent puzzle pieces together,” said study author Roger Chen, who is a University of California, Berkeley, graduate in electrical engineering and computer sciences.

“It can be done, but the material gets damaged in the process.”

The researchers overcame this limitation by finding a way to grow nanopillars made of indium gallium arsenide, a III-V material, onto a silicon surface at the relatively cool temperature of 400 degrees Celsius.

Chocolate healthier than many fruit juices

Chocolate is healthier than many fruit juices and is a ’superfood’ in its own right, says a new study conducted by a US-based chocolate company.

Superfoods are high in anti-oxidants and compounds that help prevent damage to healthy cells.

Researchers from the Hershey Centre for Health & Nutrition in the US found that powdered dark chocolate had more anti-oxidants and polyphenols, believed to protect us from cancer and cardiac conditions, the Chemistry Central Journal reports.

They compared single servings of dark chocolate, cocoa, and hot chocolate mix with fruit juices including acai berries, cranberries and pomegranates, according to a Hershey statement.

The research showed that both dark chocolate and cocoa had more antioxidant activity and more flavonols than fruit. Debra Millar, who led the study, said chocolate should be labelled a “superfruit”.

Apple to launch smaller iPhone

Apple is working on new versions of the iPhone that will be cheaper and smaller than the most recent ones, a media report said Friday.

The move is aimed at slowing the advance of competing handsets based on Google’s Android software, according to people who have been briefed on the plans.

One version would be cheaper and smaller than the most recent iPhone, said a person who has seen a prototype and asked not to be identified because the plans haven’t been made public.

Apple also is developing technology that makes it easier to use the iPhone on multiple wireless networks, The Age reported.

Chief executive officer Steve Jobs, who remains involved in strategic decisions while on medical leave, aims to narrow the price gap that has made phones running Android more popular than iPhones.

Google’s share of the global smartphone market more than tripled to 32.9 percent in the fourth quarter, eclipsing Apple’s 16 percent, according to Canalys.

Apple has considered selling the new iPhone for about $200 in the US, without obligating users to sign a two-year service contract, said the person who has seen it.

Android phones sell for a range of prices at AT&T, Verizon Wireless and other US carriers, and typically come with agreements that include a fee for broken contracts.

The iPhone 4, sold in the US by AT&T and Verizon Wireless, costs $200 to $300 with a contract.

Natalie Kerris, a spokeswoman for Apple, declined to comment.

The prototype was about one-third smaller than the iPhone 4, said the person, who saw it last year.

Apple can sell it at a low price mainly because the smartphone will use a processor, display and other components similar to those used in the current model, rather than pricier, more advanced parts that will be in the next iPhone. Component prices typically drop over time.

Apple is also working on a so-called dual-mode phone. This device would be able to work with the world’s two main wireless standards – the global system for mobile communications, used by AT&T and carriers such as Vodafone, and code division multiple access, used by Verizon Wireless.

Apple is working on a technology called a Universal SIM, which would let iPhone users toggle between GSM networks without having to switch the so-called SIM cards that associate a phone with a network, according to one person.

This would help cut the cost of distributing and managing millions of SIM cards.

The new features could also give Apple an advantage over mobile carriers in influencing customers. The device would be affordable without a carrier subsidy, so buyers wouldn’t need to agree to terms, such as termination fees, that carriers demand in exchange for subsidising the cost of the phone.

Apple has also worked on redesigned iPhone software that would let customers choose a network and configure their device on their own, without relying on a store clerk or representative of a carrier, the newspaper said.

With deep pains (and tears in my eyes), i am sorry to inform You that yesterday morning, Mr. Aditya Suresh Joshi, age 19, studying in 1st year of engineering, died in KeshvaniHospital, Mumbai. He was admitted in Keshavani Hospital as burned patient.
Reason :
4 days back this boy had gone to Amravati (One of the district place located in State of Maharashtra ) on study tour. After their study wasover, he, his cl-assmates & his teachers, all of them were standing on "Badnera" railway station to catch the train. "Badnera" is the name of the railway station for " Amravati " city.As soon as they arrived on Badnera Railway station, many of them started taking pictures of their friends using "Mobile Phones" and/or "Digital Camera". One of them complained that, in his camera, he was not able to capture more number of friends in one frame. He was not able to catch the angle. Another boy suggested that let's climb on train boogie and take picture so that all of them can be accommodated in single frame.
At that there was one goods wagon (all of them were oil tankers) trainresting between 2 main railway lines.Kumar Aditya climbed up oil boogie. Above his head, 40,000 volts
electrical line was passing through. As soon as he clicked the digital camera? 40,000 volt current passed through the camera flash light to his camera and then from his camera to his fingers and then from his fingers to his body. All this happened within fraction of minutes. Next moment he was thrown from the top. His body was half burned on the spot.
At that time, his father was traveling in Bangkok . His many friends in Pune came to know about this via mobile SMS. They instantly arranged air ambulance in Amravati and his burned body was brought to Keshavani Hospital , Mumbai. i was told that this is the best hospital in Mumbai. For 1 and 1/2 day or so he was talking to his relatives. When he was admitted to the hospital, at that time only, doctor informed his relatives that don't keep great hopes. Because of lot of complex issues in half burned body? He died yesterday morning.
Now how many of us are aware about this technological threats & dangers? Honestly, Kumar Aditya and his father was not aware. His family was not aware. Our entire friend circle of more than 12,000, we were not aware.Now should we call ourselves as fully educated and fully knowledgeable people? Please Think of it.
